Western Conference Playoff Outlook

Yesterday was a pretty devastating day if you’re the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers.

Steph Curry of the Warriors has a sprained knee and will miss the next 2 weeks. The Warriors currently lead their series vs the Houston Rockets 3-1 and will be looking to close out the series on Wednesday.

Also suffering an injury was Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers. It was announced Paul suffered a broken hand and initial reports have Paul missing up to 6 weeks. If that time frame holds true it’s likely Paul wouldn’t return until the NBA Finals, if the Clippers could make it that far without their star PG. The Clippers and TrailBlazers series is currently ties at 2 games apiece in a best of 7 series. *update Blake Griffin was ruled out for the remainder of the Playoffs with a quad inury after this post was published.

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder both have wrapped up their series vs the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks respectively. Both the Spurs and Thunder remain relatively healthy heading into their series versus one another in the next round. With Curry and Paul both ailing and unsure how their bodies will respond to treatment it could be an easy road for either the Spurs or Thunder in the Conference Finals.
